Read Nightwolf’s Guide Stay on target There have been eleven main Mortal Kombat games. Can you believe it? The 90s were that long ago. Since then the fighting game has become a gory institution as colorful ninjas and sorcerers and special forces agents collide to rip each others’ guts out in wacky martial arts tournaments. But in the past decade Mortal Kombat has gone from just a recognizable violent fighting game to a really good recognizable violent fighting game. And the recently released Mortal Kombat 11 brings the reboot trilogy home with a story mode stretching across all of history and new ways for customizing characters to your liking, with different skills and gear to make the accessible mechanics even more varied and deep.Expensive cutscenes and ancillary (arguably exploitative) side content aren’t worth anything though if your fighting game doesn’t have a solid roster. Fortunately, Mortal Kombat 11 gives you a diverse cast of kombatants on which to unleash your bloodlust. And we’re taking a look at every single one of them. Today’s fighter: Shao Kahn.AdChoices广告 Who Are They?Shao Kahn is the emperor of Outworld. As arguably the one true big bad of the whole Mortal Kombat universe, this ruthless warlord is responsible for atrocities like forcibly stealing Kitana’s realm and family as well as causing all sorts of chaos on Earth by trying to merge with it. Heck, the only reason “Mortal Kombat” tournaments even happen is because Shao Kahn is obsessed with furthering his conquest. In Mortal Kombat 11 he returns from the dead to start pillaging all over again and cast out weaker Kahns like Kotal.Kombat KhronologyMortal Kombat 2’s big twist was that previous villain Shang Tsung was just a pawn of much more threatening bad guy Shao Kahn. Later games have introduced larger threats like Shinnok and now Kronika in Mortal Kombat 11. But Shao Kahn remains the archvillain of the original Mortal Kombat trilogy. Usually an unplayable boss, Shao Kahn is a pre-order bonus character for Mortal Kombat 11.Koolest KustomizationsKeeping in line with Mortal Kombat’s vague Eastern martial arts aesthetic, I pick armors for Shao Kahn that make him look more like a demon samurai than a half-naked barbarian. But despite his impressive strength, my Shao Kahn also plays more like a despicable coward. His ranged weapons, like his spear and trademark giant hammer, allow him to deal annoying damage from a distance before laying the smack down if you try to come up too close. How Gross Is The Fatality?Shao Kahn is known for his brutal violence, not his cunning creativity. So for his Fatality, he just bashes your head in with his hammer. The first hit collapses your neck down into your torso. And the next hit, a big golf swing, slams your now-decapitated head out through your back. ‘Mortal Kombat 11’ Kharacter Guide: Nightwolf‘Street Fighter V’ and ‘Mortal Kombat 11’ Get Ne… last_img read more
