February 2017 Loot Gaming WILD Because Nerds Need Canteens

first_img The Best Wonder Wharf Prizes for Bob’s Burgers FansOpen The Nick Box from CultureFly, Get Amazing Hat The February 2017 Loot Gaming crate is designed to let you live off the land. Which, for gamers, means hitting things until they drop resources, then crafting with them. The crate’s theme is “WILD.” which fits because one of the biggest games to come out this month is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. But don’t worry, there’s some Metal Gear Solid stuff in there, too.Let’s start with the Zelda item: a BotW t-shirt showing Link in his blue champion tunic. It’s a nice design and looks very similar to the BotW hoodie that was available from the Loot Crate booth a few weeks ago at PAX East (and is probably a Loot Wear item, but I haven’t confirmed that yet). Watercolor art style, tag-free.Then there’s the most adorable item in the box, a little D-Dog plush with a plastic clip so you can attach it to your bag. It’s so widdle and cute, and he has his own eyepatch (though a perfectly fine beady eye is right under it. The tag says Konami Digital Entertainment, which I’m still surprised is making anything (including a Nintendo Switch launch title, Super Bomberman R). And Metal Gear Survive is still going to happen, though it looks like it’s going to suck. The crate has a nice centerpiece item in the form of a canteen. It’s a metal-ringed (plastic inside) Pitfall canteen, with the classic video game box art on one side and the game logo on the other, on printed nylon. For those of you who aren’t familiar, Pitfall came out 35 years ago on the Atari 2600 and was one of the first real platformers. It was also terrible, like almost all Atari 2600 games. Fight me.There’s also a Warcraft reversible beanie. Alliance on one side, Horde on the other, you know the drill. And the Loot Gaming pin is a compass. The Loot Gaming pins are round, molded metal, and generally more detailed and look nicer than the regular Loot Crate pins (which did see a significant step up after the first year or two, and are very nice enameled pins in their own right). For those who want this in list form:The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild t-shirtPitfall canteenMetal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain D-Dog mini-plushReversible Warcraft beanieMonthly pinAs always, Loot Crate is a monthly subscription service that sends you a box of nerdy things every month, with multiple crates like Loot Anime, Loot Pets, and Loot Gaming.
